The OET exam design is broken down into four pieces: the OET Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening sections of the exam:

    Pattern of Listening Sections
  • Part A : The first job would challenge medical practitioners to pinpoint particular details that were discussed during a session. After listening to the two recorded health professional-patient meetings, candidates would need to fill out the health professional notes.
  • Part B : Candidates would have to complete a second assignment in which they would have to listen to many recorded excerpts, which may include team briefings, handovers, or conversations between medical professionals and patients.
  • Part C : Candidates would have to listen to several recorded presentations or interviews on a variety of accessible healthcare topics as their third and last listening task in the listening part.
  • Section Pattern for Reading
  • Part A : The candidates would get essays covering broad healthcare subjects. The questions could be anything from sentence completion to matching the following to quick answer.
  • Part B : Their job would be to highlight the key ideas in each piece and provide multiple-choice answers. The articles may cover anything from corporate communication to policy guidelines, hospital guidelines, manuals, emails, and memos.
  • Part C : The third and final exercise in the Reading portion asks candidates to define the topic they are given in depth and submit multiple choice answers for it.
